The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) was established in 1999 to promote democratic debate on the most important economic and social issues that affect people's lives. Co-Directors "Mark Weisbrot and Dean Baker are an important resource on the web for understanding what is happening economically -- as important to read as Mike Whitney, Paul Craig Roberts, Michael Hudson, and Joseph Stiglitz, perhaps more so since they are less extreme in their analysis than the first two and have founded an institute totally independent of corporate backing. Also, their book together, 'Social Security: The Phony Crisis' devastates the RW/Financial Industries argument for privatizing social security."
